Hello. Info please. I have a used lincoln sp-125 hd. I bought this for a upcomming thin-wall exhaust project. Thought id get in some practice for a while before i attempt the actual thing. By the way the 125 is pretty dam powerful. I am using .025 lincoln solid wire with NO gas as I dont have a tank yet.Need some help with my "new to me" welder. I am having problems with my welder, its a Lincoln SP250 welder (ditigal version). I am getting a lot of sticking and "blast off" with weld porosity. It usually feeds OK but every once in a while it will go in fits and starts. The problem is usually too much pressure on the nut (maybe a wing nut) that holds the wire spool in place. But check the whole feed path - only takes a minute or two. Scott you did notice though that I cast a vote for the SP 135 over the MM 135. Another thing to try first is when you are welding is keep the cable to the gun straight as possible. Higher guage wire doesn't travel around curves well as lighter gauge. FYI I use a regular push gun on aluminum. I am taking a lunch break and going out to weld more of it. A teflon liner is a must. Use 5356 wire 4043 is to soft trust me I have a roll in mine right now.
